Terms of useThe version 4.036 of BrailleSurf 4 is a ulimited version distributed free of charge. Nevertheless, its use relies upon the rules on freeware. Any use for professional or commercial purposes should be approved by INSERM U483. No change can be made to any program element without the explicit agreement of INSERM U483. INSERM U483 can in no case be held for responsible for the consequences of the software use. Each manipulation with this version is under the responsability of its user. BrailleSurf 4First, check that the directory 'c:\Installation BS4' exists on your computer. If it is not the case, you must go to the preliminary step. Then make sure that the directory in which you want to install BrailleSurf 4 (by default 'c:\bs4') does not exist. If it exists, launch 'Desinstallation de BS4' program then delete it. (We also advise you to uninstall any version of BrailleSurf 3, if necessary.) Download the file install_bs4_uk.exe and run it. If the installation does not start automatically, you will have to run the program 'Setup BS4' which is located in the 'c:\Installation BS4' folder. This program, fully sonorised in order to allow visually impaired people
to use it in an autonomous way, will ask you in which folder you want to install
BrailleSurf (by default 'c:\bs4'), and in which language you want to use it
(English, French or Spanish). Note:As soon as this installation has been completed, the BrailleSurf 4 browser works with a text display on the screen. You can start it by pressing CTRL-F12, or from the Start menu. If you want to use a braille display or a speech synthesiser, do not forget to download also the drivers you need.
